IGCSE

Edexcel IGCSE

You can find more details in the full specification here.

Paper Style Coverage % final mark
1 2 hours "ramped" questions  All core material (excluding bold items in spec) 66.7
2 1 hour "ramped" questions  All material (including bold items in spec) 33.3

The IGCSE is not modular, it is assessed by two exams which are both sat at the end of the 5th form. There is no coursework; practical skills are assessed as part of the written paper. Questions are "ramped" in difficulty, starting with the easiest and becoming progressively harder as you work your way through. It is important to pace yourself so that you have enough time to tackle the hardest questions properly.
